Since 1890, The Salvation Army Metro Atlanta Area Command
has had long-term experience in understanding the barriers that prevent economically-disadvantaged populations from meeting their basic needs.
Many of the people we serve are on fixed incomes, earning minimum wage, supporting multiple family members on a single wage or simply not working at all. In particular, our nine Financial Emergency Service Centers, Red Shield Services and Transitional Housing Shelter, Residential Camping program, and three Boys and Girls Clubs serve people primarily living in poverty.
Even after two World Wars, the Great Depression, and various world, local and national Disasters, the Salvation Army continues to Do the Most Good throughout Atlanta via the following comprehensive and effective, emergency and long-term, assistance programs:
