We stabililze families by providing basic needs. Many of our neighbors are one life crisis away from becoming trapped in the downward spiral of poverty. Our core programs help stabilize families by providing a wide vaiety of nutritious foods, clothing, personal hygiene items and family support services. In the last 12 months Sweetwater Mission has provided over 1,235,000 pounds of food and 105,000 clothing items to 17,275 families.
In 1968, Sweetwater Mission started a small clothing distribution center when local church represenatives formed a partnership to battle the effects of poverty. Our mission has always been preventing hunger and homelessness. Sweetwater Mission has now grown to a multifaceted agency assisting thousands of families per year with their basic needs. We serve our neighbors in need in he south Cobb and east Douglas Counties. More than 200 dedicated volunteers and a small staff serve over 12,000 neighbors annually - almost half of which are children under the age of 18.
